Work Safely at Heights in the Construction Industry.
A Growth Industry
Roads and other Infrastructure projects in Australia are in a growth phase over the next 25 years. The safety of construction workers is an essential part of those projects creating a high demand for qualified persons in height related operational roles.
All workers who conduct or supervise tasks whilst at height will find this course beneficial to workplace safety. This course will enable you to comply with current WHS Legislation.
Who can do this course?
Pre-requisites – Whitecard**
- Be at least 15 Years Old
- Have basic levels of language, lteracy and numeracy Skills
- Be physically fit enough to move light equipment and perform traffic control duties.
What you will need?
A pen, small notepad, 100 points of ID, Your USI*, Safety Boots (joggers/ sneakers are unacceptable), Long sleeve shirt, Long pants, (tights are unacceptable), Sun and rain protection as required.
Regulatory Requirements
Specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/
state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Training & Assessment
Training is conducted by the below methods:
Pre-study
- Online presentation & theory questions
1 Day Face to Face
- Presentation & written theory questions
- Practical Set up & Assessment on 2 occasions including:
- safe work method statements.
- hazard identification & risk assess for working at height.
- planning, equipment inspection and use.
- working effectively with others at heights
Completion
On successful completion participants will be issued: RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights (Typically within 7-14 days, but may vary)

** A whitecard is a refers to the unit CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the
construction industry
