HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Be prepared before you need it!

This CPR course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to enable you to sustain life and minimise the consequences of injury and illness until professional help arrives.

Who can enrol in this qualification

All persons – minimum 14 years of age, who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Most workplaces require at least 1 person to hold a current CPR Certification.

Suitability Requirements

A Pre-training review is conducted prior to enrolment to determine if the program is appropriate along with the required language, literacy, numeracy and oral communication skills. Participants must be able to bend and kneel on the floor to perform CPR for at  least 2 minutes. No prior knowledge is required.

2 Black pens, Neat casual clothing, No singlets or thongs and covered shoes. The above ID.

Licensing & Regulatory Requirements

It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) that:

HLTAID009 Provide CPR is completed annually

Specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Training Delivery

May be facilitated at a customer’s site or one of our Training Centers – Please call to enquire.

Face to Face – $65.00 per person

No Pre – Study required. Full training & assessment provided typically 4 hours in duration.

Assessment

Assessment is conducted by the below methods:

  • Multiple choice theory questions
  • Practical Assessment
  • Observations during scenarios

Including at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult & infant resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.

Completion

On successful completion participants will be issued
with a Statement of Attainment with the following units:
